§ 78-125. Supplemental death benefits fund.

(a)

The city elects to participate in the supplemental death benefits fund of the Texas Municipal Retirement System for the purpose of providing in-service death benefits in the amounts and on the terms provided for in the TMRS Act, V.T.C.A., Government Code § 855.314, for each of the city's employees who are members of such system and for the purpose of providing postretirement death benefits as provided in said V.T.C.A., Government Code § 855.314 for annuitants whose last covered employment was as an employee of this city.

(b)

The city is authorized and directed to notify the director of the system of adoption of this section and of the participation of the city in the fund.

(c)

Participation of the employees and annuitants in the supplemental death benefits fund shall be effective on January 1, 1981.
