§ 78-70. Powers and duties.

  • (a)

    The director of civil service shall attend all meetings of the civil service commission, act as its secretary and record its official actions.

    (b)

    The director shall make, prepare and recommend a classification plan and a compensation plan for submission to the commission, which classification and compensation plans when adopted and approved by the city council in ordinance form shall become the official classification and compensation plan for the city.

    (c)

    The director shall keep such records as may be necessary or required for the proper administration of the civil service law, this article and the rules and regulations established thereunder, and the director shall make an annual report to the commission.

    (d)

    The director shall submit to the city council recommendations as to uniform standards in respect to attendance and leave regulations, employee training and welfare, duties and salary classification and other personnel matters.

    (e)

    The director shall perform all other such work relevant to the civil service system as may be required under the civil service law, this article or by the commission.
