§ 40-281. Purpose.

(a)

The purpose of these provisions is to secure safety from fire, panic, and other dangers, lessen congestion on public streets, facilitate adequate provision of transportation, conserve building values, encourage the most appropriate use of land, and to provide safe and adequate access into and out of commercial and residential developments.

(b)

For the purpose of the section, the term "parking lot" shall also include all required parking spaces, maneuvering aisles and loading areas. All examples of parking lot layouts, parking lot dimensions, driveway design criteria and the table of minimum required parking spaces is located in section 40-285 of this article.
