§ 22-421. Service fee for false alarm.

  • (a)

    A person who is required to obtain a permit under of this article shall pay a service fee within 30 days of each false alarm, if as set forth below:

    (1)

    If the alarm site has had more than three but fewer than ten other alarms per calendar year as specified by the permit, the fee is $100.00; and

    (2)

    If the alarm site has had ten or more other false alarms per calendar year as specified by the permit, the fee is $150.00.

    (b)

    A service fee will not be assessed if the permit holder or person who is required to obtain a permit shows to the police chief or fire chief, within ten business days of the false alarm, that the activation was not a false alarm. The burden is on the permit holder or person who is required to obtain a permit that the activation of the alarm system was not a false alarm.
