§ 22-157. Application for permit.

  • (a)

    The application for a permit required by this division shall state the location of the electrical work to be done, a description of the work to be done, whether the work will consist of a new installation and the name of the owner or occupant of the building or premises.

    (b)

    A permit shall not be issued to anyone except an electrical contractor holding a license from the State of Texas or a homeowner.

    (c)

    Each permit required by this division, when issued, shall be for such installation as described in the application therefor, and no deviation shall be made from the installation so described without the written approval of the building official.

    (d)

    Except for a permit issued for work performed under subsection (b) of section 22-141 of this Code, the permit application shall be in the name of a licensed electrical contractor, shall be signed by a person licensed by the state as a master electrician, and shall be presented to the electrical inspector by the person signing the application or by a person licensed by the state as a journeyman electrician who is authorized by the licensed electrical contractor to submit the application on its behalf.
