§ 22-43. Schedule of permit fees.

  • (a)

    Before any permit may be issued, the following required fee shall have been paid. The city, county, state and United States shall be exempt from paying a fee.

    (b)

    Permit fees may be doubled if work begins prior to a required permit having been issued.

    (c)

    The amount of the fee shall be as set forth in the fee schedule adopted by the city council.

    (d)

    A charitable, nonprofit organization may be exempted by the city manager from otherwise applicable fees established in this division if the organization is engaged in a temporary project to repair, renovate, or improve existing substandard residential structures occupied by residents who are unable to afford to pay for such repairs, renovations, or improvements, at no cost to the occupants or to the owners of the residential structure.

    (e)

    A property owner may be exempted by the city manager from otherwise applicable fees established in this division if the person is engaged in a project to repair, renovate, improve, or replace structures damaged by the flooding disaster which occurred on April 30, 2016.
